Bus rapid transit (BRT) is fast, comfortable and affordable mass transportation. BRT systems, sometimes referred to as "light rail on wheels," offer predictable service and benefits such as upgraded stations, onboard Wifi and travel prioritization at stoplights. BRT vehicles, often elongated buses, travel mostly in dedicated lanes to avoid traffic and usually run on electricity or alternative fuels.
U.S.-based BRT systems, which are growing in popularity, can be found in Richmond, Va., Jacksonville, Fla., Eugene, Ore., Cleveland, Ohio and more!
